The Voice from the Grave
"Where I use to live on a farm before I married, there was an old family
cemetery near our house. The people who lived there first told us, when we
moved there from the city, that if you would go there on a new moon and
close your eyes and stand near a grave and put your hand on a headstone, you
would say, 'What are you doing down there?' And they would always answer.
"I didn't believe it but being very brave, I got a girlfriend to go with
me and when the time came that the moon was new, we went there. My
girlfriend was afraid to shut her eyes, but I shut my eyes and put my hand
on the headstone, And said, 'What are you doing down there?' A voice from
down below said, "Nothin-n-n.'
"We took off in a run, and we never went back again after dark."

County.
=============
The next time I visit my HALL Family Cemetery, IT WILL BE AFTER DARK. If I
get some answers from those in that cemetery, a new "Blood Harlan County
Feud Book" will be written.
