Hi Carol, Sheila and All,
The Black family came for Ireland where their name was Mc What-I can't recall at the moment-but will find out for you.
About family traits-George Hensley can be found in any book on American Orginals for his Ministry with the Snake Handlers Church of Eastern KY.; when George was bitten by a rattler in Florida he chose death over medical attention; my Great Great Grandpa Jesse Osborne sued to get his Civil War Pension and won; Roy Lewis was a wonderful principal at Sandy Hook HS Sandy Hook, KY and kept the big boys in line; many of the Lewis family are teachers; also Ms. Noe was my English Prof at OU [she was an excellent teacher]; the Heltons live here in Pike County, OH and are very well thought of; my first Cousin Mike Gilliam md. Dinah Helton; the Blanton family I have known forever--all good strong people.
Sheila I am sure you know the Helton family. George Helton and his wife ran the Farmers' Market on Rt. 23 for years-I miss that market.
The Black family of Elliott County, KY have beautiful headstones in Memory Gardens Cemetery. They are black marble with their likeness and sketches of their farms etched into the stone-wonderful.
