My guess is that it was probably a mountain lion or some type of large cat. I think they are common in those parts. I have a lot of Tackett relation from that area... my g-grandma was Tilitha Cumi Tackett, dau of Jasper (Jay) Tackett ( i think.. i don't have my info with me). Maybe we are related. Cumi married Garfield Johnson.
