Fined: Charles Durham was fined $1 and cost in county court last Saturday for being drunk at a public speaking and was acquitted on a charge of breach of the peace

The case against James Cunagim for killing B.. Ash on last Friday night was called for trial yesterday but owing to the absence of some of the witnesses was continued until 11 o'clock today. Only a part of the witnesses were recognized for today the balance for tomorrow as there are quite an array of witnesses and it will take the whole of two days to take the testimony

DEATHS
Mrs Charles Bethurum after an illness of several months died Wed night of consumption

R.M. Hosack of Bell Centre Ohio, father of Mrs Meshac Gentry of this place died Wed night. Mrs Gentry left Thursday morning

Miss Lucy Griffin sister of circuit clerk J.F. Griffin and Mrs S.C. Franklin died Wed evening

Mr T.T. Wallace one of our oldest and most honored citizens died Wed about 1 pm. MR Wallace was about 62 years of age had never married and had always made his home with his sister Mrs Ann Fish, there being only the two children. For several years he was deputy county clerk and that place he always filled with credit. The burial took place yesterday afternoon in the cemetery at this place

LIVINGSTON
John Preston received a letter from Quail Sat that his half brother Mart Poynter was not expected to live he being very low of typhoid fever

Messrs Pike and Collyer of Brodhead returned to their homes Sat

Miss May and John Ross and Jessie McNeil of Pittsburgh spent Thanksgiving with Miss Cleo and Bertena Mullins

Elder Dickson stopped over here Tues and at night preached in the Christian church

John Preston lost a valuable cow by falling over a cliff fort feet high

Mrs sue Mullins is having some paper hanging done in her hotel

John Smith is making so valuable improvements on his property

Mr and Mrs George Mounce have gone to housekeeping in the Everett property

Mr Frank Jackson of Mitchelsburg is the guest of Mr and Mrs. R.C. Wade

Mrs. R.C. Wade closed her school last Friday. Mrs Wade has taught a good school and given entire satisfaction to the patrons. Lack of fuel gave her some trouble these cold mornings

Sam Mason went to Richmond Sunday in order to put some stock on sale Monday it being county curt day

There was a bop at the Mullins hotel Sat night given by Landlord Farmer in honor of engineer Bob Gray and son Robert Gray Jr. William and Isaac Freeman and John Deden the string band of Covington furnished the music for the occasion. They all had a merry time and a very pleasant evening was spent under the hospitable roof of Mrs Sue Mullins and Mr and Mrs John Farmer

Rome Adams has sold his mules but purchased another and still rolling the wheels

On Tuesday evening Mr Rolla Harris of Whites Station Madison county and Miss Louris McGuire of this place were married by Elder Dickerson of London. The bride is the beautiful and accomplished daughter of MR and Mrs James McGuire of the place and her many friends wish her a happy and prosperous voyage. Mr Harris is one of Madison county's best citizens and is the operator at White's Station
