: Carter Co., (Grayson) - On last Wednesday evening, on Joseph Bowling,
: being intoxicated, came into Mat Boldman's shop with his knife in his
: hand, making every demonstration that might mean fight and, upon
: Boldman's telling him to behave himself, Bowling threw an ax at him with
: all might. J.J. Kennedy was in the sop at that time and just escaped the
: point of Bowling's knife by jumping a grindstone and running up the
: street. sometime later, after Boldiman and kennedy had returned to the
: shop, Bowling returned and started into the shop. Boldman told his not
: to come in, but he still advanced toward them, when he was shot by
: Kennedy, three balls taking effect. Bowling lived about an hour. An
: exmining trail will be held Saturday.
