Found this in the Winchester Sun Obits, tought it maybe on interest to
Bath Co and Sorrell researchers.
MABLE BALLARD
Mable "Polly" Ballard, 80, of 10A Victory Ave., widow
of Clay Ballard,
died at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the St. Joseph Hospital,
Lexington.
A native of Bath County, she was the daughter of the
late Ellis Sorrell and
Eunice Fortune Sorrell. She was a retired sales clerk
from Belk Simpson and
was a homemaker. Mrs. Ballard also was a member of the
American Legion
Auxiliary and the First Christian Church, Mt. Sterling.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Wiseman and
Janie Rose,
Winchester; one son, Dr. Billy C. Ballard, Clark
County; eight grandchildren,
Josh and Clay Ballard, Shelly Abner, Beth Rose, Julie
Howard, Billy
Wiseman, Sonja Wilcox and Nicole Guerra; seven
great-grandchildren; four
brothers, Jack Sorrell, Indianapolis, Ind.; Dee
Sorrell, Lexington, and Roy
and Gatewood Sorrell, Mt. Sterling; two sisters, Maggie
and Mary Sorrell,
Mt. Sterling, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the
Scobee Funeral Home
by the Rev. Dale Adams. Burial will be in the
Winchester Cemetery.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to
Hospice East, Box 115.
