Subject: [KYBATH-L] Old picture of Main St., Mt. Sterling
Date: Fri, 2 Jul 1999 15:41:56 -0400
Someone gave Dad an old picture of Main Street in Mt. Sterling. It is taken
from the southeast corner of Maysville Street, looking west. It shows a
mule-drawn delivery wagon and what Dad says is a Model-T Ford (only
partially shown). In the background, can be seen the tower from the old
Christian Church that stood on the corner of Main & Bank Streets (where
Montgomery Nat'l Bank--oops, Traditional Bank--now stands). Part of the old
post office can be seen as well as much of the Presbyterian Church. A small
sign on a telephone(or telegraph?) pole on the southwest corner of the
Main/Maysville intersection, warns traffic to "Keep To The Right."
I will eventually put the picture up on my webpages. (I'm still waiting to
hear from Rootsweb.) However, it may be a while before I have the pages up
and running, so I thought I'd just offer to e-mail the scanned image and to
anyone who requests a copy. It's size is 176KB.
