While we are on the subject of courthouse records;

On a trip to the KENTUCKY ARCHIVES in Frankfurt some years ago I found a book
that listed "burnt records" or something of the sort. Not clear on where I
found it or perhaps the librarian told me about it -- BUT-- there are
records that were burned at the courthouse that sat there for many years and
was going to be tossed as they had fire and water damage. I think there were
three boxes but I am not sure and I think they covered the 1850s. Somehow
they were saved and ended up at the Archives.

I was given a pair of gloves and spent the entire afternoon going through
one box. There have been several people that have not been able to find
these boxes at the Archives. I know they are there because I had some
xeroxes done at 1.00 a page. Has anyone else seen these files?
