Vivian....Hello...I to went to Bath Co last year in June and spent two days
in the library...The ladies there were very helpful and tried to do all they
could to help me.but no one seemed to know a lot about the genealogy dept at
that time..I did find lots of "things" in the locked cabinet that I was able
to copy...My husband went to the court house each day and he was really
impressed. On the first day there he was looking for some thing and could not
find it..When he went back the second day someone had run across it and had
it waiting for him,,Neat Huh...When we were there the libary had just had 4
computers donated to them by Gateway and they were still trying to figure
them out....

Now why am I writing this...I will be back there in October for a couple of
days...I would take one of those days and put "things "in plastic sleeves
from the boxes in the court house if it is posible to do it..Who would one
ask to get permission..It could not just be done it must be orginized
somewhat..I would be glad to take several cases of the plastic sleeves and
some note books...What notebooks and plastic sleeves We could not get to
could be left in the Genealogy room at the library aand when some one goes
there maybe they could give a couple of hours to fill sleeves..I do not know
if this would work but I would be willing to give it a try...also....

All the information that is in The Library on say marriages,,cemetery
inscriptions,,or any church records,,etc,,????could these be put online????On
a or the Bath Co page.....I would be willing to help in any way I can to get
this stuff on line..It would help so many of us...I may live 700 miles away
from Bath Co..as most of you do,,,but I bet there is something we can do from
our homes to help Bath Co and ourselves....Please let me know what you think
and how I can help..

Hi Barbara,
Gee...I am planning a trip to KY in October too. [If my hubby is fully
recooperated from his by pass surgery and goes to Fla. to play golf] That
is always about the last week in October.......Sure would be neat to meet you
there and prhaps we could clean up the records. However.....It will not be
that easy.
Like you said.... who gives the permission?....
Lets share this with the list and see what others think.
Blessings!
Vivian
