There were James families listed in KY censuses
since at least 1810. There were 456 entries for
James in 1870, but only two in Bath Co. - one an
elderly Susan James, and the others a group of
children living with an Atchison family,
including one Jissie Ann James, female, age 6.
Not even sure their last name was James (it may
have been Warner, record is confusing). No sign
of your Jesse.
