Kelly,
Indexes are relatively easy to do, depending on the format. If the census is
initially laid out in a spread sheet they are very simple to convert to an
index. Word processor files have to be converted from text to spread sheet,
which is a little trickier. It is a little more difficult to format the
files to meet the ACP standard for the Census Project Archives but once the
template is created it is no big deal. It is only that they want ftp text
files rather than HTML so formatting columns that remain consistent in plain
text is tedious since you cannot use tabs.
In order to put the Indexes on the Bell Co. Archive pages we may need to
convert those to text files also. I don't know for sure. If so let me know.
David
