Are these records referred to as the Decker Manuscripts? It sounds like the same story. Richard Matthews had put these records online. Mr Decker worked for the Knox County Court House. When the new Court House was built, Knox County decided to do a little house cleaning and toss some of the old records out. Mr. Decker kept these records and these records became known as the Decker Manuscript.

I know Mr. Matthews was having problems in keeping his site online, but it wants to stick in my mind that Rootsweb provided him webspace for this, but not sure. Does anyone else know?

My aunt who lives in Knox County and does housekeeping for people said that she used to work for a woman who had a bureau filled with - guess what? OLD KNOX COUNTY COURT RECORDS!!!!!! The woman said her son used to work at the court house and whomever was in charge at the time told him to dispose of a bunch of old records and he decided to keep them!!! The son has since passed away and my aunt no longer works for the family but promised me she would go ask the lady if she still has the records- so everyone keep your fingers crossed that this woman had the foresight not to throw these records away!!! I will call my aunt and remind her to check on this- if I do get the records what should I do with them?? Where should they rightfully belong?? If the Knox Court officials were so foolish as to dispose of them, should they be taken back there???
