HODGES, JESSIE - 98, passed away Tuesday July 17, 2001 at her home. Born June
14, 1903, in Morganton, NC, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Edgar
Rhyne and Augusta Wakefield Rhyne. She was a dedicated member of Calloway
Baptist Church, and had served for many years as the pianist. In addition to
her parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, John Edgar, Dr. Sam,
and Joe Douglas; her husband, Dr. Caskey O. Hodges; three sisters and four
brothers. Survivors include two sons, Jimmie (Drucilla) Hodges, Knoxville,
Tenn., and Stuart (Selma) Hodges, Calloway; one daughter, Sue Ann Green
(Gerald), Lexington, Ky.; 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; and three
great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives
and friends. Services will be at 8 p.m. tonight at Creech Funeral Home with
Dr. Bill D. Whitaker presiding. Burial will be in LynnHurst-Greenwood
Cemetery, Knoxville, Tenn. at noon Friday. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Creech Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
