and Rosie Messer Bays, departed this life at her home on Thursday, July 10,
2003. She was a member of Ferndale Pentecostal Church, and was a homemaker. She
enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and crafts. She also loved her garden, and
spending time with and caring for her family. She was united in marriage to Raymond
Tolliver on March 11, 1981.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers,
Jerome Bays and Randal Bays; her grandmother, Phebbie Bays, and an aunt, Fannie
Arrington. Survivors include her husband, Raymond Tolliver, Flat Lick; four
daughters, Mrs. Brenda McKinney and husband, Jeff, Penbrook, Ind., Rebecca Mills,
Flat Lick, Naomi Messer, Flat Lick, and Tammy Saunders, Flat Lick; one son,
Kenneth Tolliver, Mathaniel, W.Va.; and eight grandchildren, and a host of
other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hampton Funeral
Home with the Rev. Arthur Jackson presiding. Burial will be in Smith Cemetery
at Ely Hollow. Pallbearers will be friends and family. The family will receive
friends from after 6 p.m. Monday, and until the hour of the service on Tuesday
at Hampton Funeral Home. This is a courtesy of the Creech-Durham Funeral
Home, Pineville.
