Dear Cousins,

In my eternal quest to straighten out the line of Samuel Slone (Or Sloane or Sloan) 1827-1910, I am preparing to send a flurry of messages to you. I'm looking for 7 or 8 of his 13 children & hoping this might net me more replies than lumping them all together in one e-mail.

Since Samuel had children by 2 wives, in 2 states (VA & KY), over a period of 30+ years, you might be able to guess how very confused I am.

In any case, if you have ANY information abt the following children of Samuel's, please let me know:



SUSAN J. SLONE, b. 1872, KY. Is this the same Susan who has children William and Laura M. on the 1910 census in Laurel Co. KY? And on the 1920 Bell Co. KY census. Did she forget to get married, did she inherit these kids from another relative, or what? She is listed in:

Listed as age 8 on 1880 Menifee Co. census.

Listed as visiting brother William in Louisville from Oct.- Xmas in 1892. (Excerpts from the Mountain Echo newspaper, published by Laurel Co. Historical Society).

In Laurel Co, KY on 1910 census.

On Bell County census in 1920, with Willie 20 & Minnie, 16.
