Helen Gross, 68, died at 3:15 pm Nov. 17, 2003, at St. Rita's Medical Center,
Lima, Ohio.
She was born Sept. 30, 1935, in Pineville, Ky., to Benjamin F. and Susie
Goodin, who preceded her in death. On Sept. 28, 1956, she married Jack V. Gross,
who survives.
Mrs. Gross was a homemaker. She was a member of Lima Missionary Baptist
Church for 47 years. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed sewing.
Survivors also include a son, Shawn V. (Ginny) Gross of Lima; three
daughters, Debra L. (Phil) Kleman, Kimberly D. (Ted) Coon, and Pamela K. Gross, all of
Lima; three brothers, Boyd (Ruby) Goodin of Arjay, Ky., Dallas Goodin of Ada,
Ohio, and Estil (Jackie) Goodin of Lima; four sisters, Alta (William) Engle of
Waynesfield, Ohio, Sylvia (Duane) Slusher of Alger, Ohio, Tevis (Clinton)
Elliot of Arjay, Ky., and Jessie (Charles) Clark of Baytown, Texas; and 11
grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Cecil, Earl, and O. Carson
Goodin; and a sister, Esther Goodin.
Services will begin at 11 am Thursday at Lima Missionary Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Allentown Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 pm today at Chiles &
Son-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lima Missionary Baptist Church.
