Hi Patricia,
Thank you so much for your help.
Please let me know about the copy from Covington, and we can work that out on Emma Akers.
I thought the Acres spelling had been cleared up by 1930.
As for David Stewart Akers, I never heard anyone say that he died while out of KY, but that
is possible, and brought back to Bell Co for burial with his wife, Emma. On this, I will keep
trying. I found out he had been married before Emma too, and no one told me, unless
Stewart kept that a secret from everyone. ha ha
Regarding Emma, I was trying to find another source like the funeral home in Bell Co that
might help me with the 29 Feb 1865 on her tombstone. 1865 was an odd year and would not
have had a Feb 29. I can accept the 1865, 66 years old at death, but the 29 Feb I would like to
find if she was born on 28 Feb or 1 Mar.
Again, thanks so much for your help. If you find anything more, please let me know.

Dear Pat,
I think I have your great- grandmother's death certificate number: Ewoline
Acres, age 66, died in Bell Co. 2-22-1931. Certificate number 18,518 for
the year 1931.
I can try & get a copy of it from the Covington KY library (they have them
on microfilm) if you give me a few days.
As for David, I could not find any trace of him in the death index, even
after trying soundex, metaphone, every known version of the names, etc. Is
it possible that he was out of state at the time of his death? Visiting
relatives? I do know that I've spent more time than I wished searching for
Kentucky relatives who inconveniently moved to Ohio or went visiting to
Tennessee when they died. Just a thought.
Also: I don't know if you've ever looked at the microfilm, but the birth
records for Lee county VA for that period are written so poorly, and in such
very small handwriting, that I almost gave up genealogy entirely trying to
find some of my family at that period.
I used the search engine at
http://vitals.rootsweb.com/ky/death/search.cgi
because it allows you to search by almost anything except exact date.
Let me know if you want the death certificate.

> I can find no record on KY Death Records 1911-2000. I was trying to find
maybe funeral home records of Pineville of those years, to tell me anything
about their death in their records. My grandmother's tombstone reads: 29
February 1865 for her birth. This can not be correct. Virginia tells me
there is no record of her birth during the period of 1853 - 1866.
Everything I have dealt with gives me Lee Co VA as her birth, as her parents
and siblings.

grasping at straws, or anything, in hopes of clearing up this birth date.

age. I do not have any family member remaining to ask about this.

grandparents, before they passed away in 1931 and 1932. I live in Florida,
so I do not know what books, etc are available in Bell Co.
