Hello,
I am writing to repeat my report of the passing of my dear cousin Archie
Caldwell b. 26 May 1930 Bell Co. KY. Went to his Creator March 20, 2004.
Buried Pinelawn Memorial Gardens Pineville KY.
Archie was the son of Thea Caldwell and Virgie Hoskins. Thea Caldwell was
the son of Shade Caldwell who was the son of Daniel ( Tuck) Caldwell who was
my grandfathers (Jacob Caldwell) brother. We were also cousin through the
Saylors due to Shade's wife being a Saylor.
Archie Caldwell book, "Caldwell's and Their Cousins of Virginia and S.E.
Kentucky was the primary instrument which brought me home to my family which
was lost to myself and my father since he was orphaned in 1914 along with
his younger brother Daniel. Archie's work and the work of others gave me a
home for the first time in my life. The people that helped him with the book
are some of the same ones that are working on the new book to add people
like me to the new version. They are Joe Caldwell and Lola his wife and
their daughter Lolita Caldwell.
To put into words what this kind people have done for my life is in the hymn
Amazing Grace, "I once was lost but now I am found, I was blind but now I
see"
I can never thank them enough for their kindness in this precious work of
the heart nor all of those Genealogy Angels that have assisted in large and
small ways to help me find my people. I know truly know what it means to say
Home, My Old Kentucky Home if you don't mind my emotionalism.
Gratefully,
Elizabeth Lee Caldwell
