Thelma Ruth Ball McCabe, 79, of Middlesboro, Ky., died Friday, May 6, 2005,
at her home.The daughter of Harry and Gladys Ball, she was born April 12, 1926,
in Middlesboro.She was a member of First Baptist Church.In addition to her
parents, Mrs. McCabe was preceded in death by her husband, Zack McCabe, and by
her brothers, John Ball and Bill Ball.She is survived by her daughter and
son-in-law, Cheryl and Ray Yonkus of Carmel, Ind.; her son and daughter-in-law,
David and Martha Gambrel of Middlesboro, Ky.; her loving brother, Randy Ball of
Middlesboro, Ky.; her children and their families, Larry McCabe and wife,
Debbie, of Oliver Springs, Jan Poland and husband, Ronnie, of Kingston, and Linda
Smith of Kingston; her grandsons, Jim Yonkus of New Orleans, La., and Brett and
Laura Yonkus of Westfield, Ind.; and her great-grandson, Aiden Yonkus of
Westfield, Ind..She is also survived by her nephews, Randy Ball and Baylor Ball,
both of Middlesboro, Ky.; her nieces, Carabeth Williamson of Nashville, Pam
Toole, and Vickie Partin, both of Middlesboro, Ky.; her special sisters-in-law,
Carol Ball of Frankfort, Ky., and Louise Hearn of Middlesboro; her special
cousins, Thelma and Charles Bradford of Middlesboro, Jack and Irene Ely, Judi and
H.B. Deathrage, Joy and Bill Sharp, all of Florence, Ky.; her special friend,
Sue Cline of Harrogate; and by a host of great-nieces and nephews, other
relatives and friends.The funeral will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2005, in the
chapel at Creech Funeral Home in Middlesboro, Ky., with the Rev. Randy Phelps
officiating. Star Phelps will provide music.The burial will be at the
Middlesboro Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randy Ball, Ray Yonkus, David Gambrel, Jim
Yonkus, Brett Yonkus, Baylor Yonkus, Randy Ball Jr., George Pope Cawood, and
H.E. Uhl.The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral
home.Creech Funeral Home in Middlesboro, Ky., in charge of arrangements.
