Looking for information on Shelby Corbitt, wife Rose Gillespie Corbitt
and children Biddie, Barrett and Clay. Clay born about 1904-1909. Biddie
was half of a song and dance team on the Orpheum Circuit (Biddie and Dot
T). Clay was a race driver. Shelby Corbitt was the father and possible
committed suicide about 1910-1920 by drinking carbolic acid while living
in Ashland. Rose died about 1915 when her hair caught on fire while cooking.
This was probably in Ashland also.

Rose's sister Virginia Caroline Gillespie Watkins, wife of John Burke Watkins,
was a milliner in Ashland in 1904 when daughter Virginia was born. John
Burke Watkins was a jockey or a sign painter or played semipro baseball
in Ashland. (All above family stories from my father's memory. Since most
happened before he was born and the family "enlarged" a lot, who knows?
