Hello Dear list,

I have some more tiny bits in my search for my grandmother's siblings and
parents. However, they are VERY tiny bits. So, I'm going to share these
latest tidbits in the hopes that someone on the list might recognise these
folks.

I just spoke with an elderly cousin. She told me that my grandmother, Mary
Alice Donaldson Lawson Dennis, had three sisters (I don't know if these were
full sisters or half sisters). They lived in Ashland not far from my
Grandmother.

The time frame would be in the 1940's.

Mary Alice Dennis lived on Front Street. Two of her sisters were twins -
Orie and Norie (I don't know if I have the spelling right on there first
names.)

A third sister was Jenny. Jenny lived on a houseboat on the river.

The only last name I have is on one of the twin sisters - the last name was
Dunlap.

Orie had a daughter named Teenie. Teenie was retarded. Teenie had a sister
that couldn't have children, and when Teenie had a baby, the other sister
took that baby to raise. I don't have name of Teenie's sister.

The possible maiden names on my grandmother and her sisters is Donaldson. My
grandmother also had a half brother by the name of Steve Sexton. So, I don't
yet know whether these sisters were Donaldson or Sexton.

I have been searching for nearly three years and to date haven't been able to
verify my grandmother's maiden name nor the name of the man she married prior
to marrying RC Dennis in Rowan County in 1896. She was married to an Unknown
Lawson and had two children, Floyd and Emma Lawson.

Sometime in the early 1900's RC and Mary Alice Dennis and many of the Dennis
clan moved from their homes in Rowan County, Kentucky, to Ashland, Ky and
settled there. RC died there in 1922. My Grandmother died in 1953, a year
after I was born.

So, Boyd List, if any of these folks sound familiar, please email me off
list. I'm hoping someone out there will recognise these sisters of my
grandmother and can point me in some more directions to look for their
parents.
