Do you want to manage this list?

I created the KYBOYD mailing list in 1998 and became the first subscriber to it. At that time one had to be a contributor to Rootsweb and actually "buy" the list, and the list manager was referred to as the "list owner". My vision for the list has been only to provide a forum for discussion of genealogical topics related to Boyd County, but I have not been concerned about the number of messages or the amount of traffic, and I have resisted the suggestions of some others to turn it into a "chat line".

The situation is different now that Ancestry.com has taken over, and a list manager is not required to be a contributor. After five years, I am ready to pass it on to someone else.

If anyone wants to take over the management of the KyBoyd mailing list, please send a note to and tell me your vision for the list.
