Hi,

I'm looking for a daughter of Simon Stacy JUNIOR and his wife Elizabeth
Davidson Stacy. In Simon's (JR) estate settlement she is identified
only as "R.D." Does anyone have any idea who this is? Simon's will
was signed by Daniel Duff (1822) in Perry County, KY. Is there possibly
a connection? He had several married daughters, including this R.D.,
and also three very young daughters, Margaret, Sitha, and Judith, two
were under 5 at the time of his death. Simon was close to the
Davidson, Duff, Everage, Cody (his sister married William Cody), Cornett
(his niece Mary Everage married William Cornett) and Combs families. I
would like to point out that his brother Benjamin Stacy married Ann
Combs, daughter of old Mason of Stafford Co., VA. Ben and Ann
apparently died in Jackson County, TN.

Young Henry Davis (son of ?) married Sitha Stacy (his second wife, this
is proven) and it is believed that Judith Stacy married him (ca 1829) as
his first wife but died, and Sitha married him secondly.. This branch
of the family moved to what later became Buchanan Co., VA. Henry and
Sitha Stacy Davis (md. 1836) raised their family and died in that area.

Does anyone on the list have information for the father of Henry Davis?
or for the daughter, R.D. listed in Simon's estate settlement? or for
the marriage of Margaret Stacy???

Mason Combs and Simon Stacy SENIOR were very close, PRIOR to the
marriage of Mason's daughter ANN and Simon's SON, Benjamin. Does anyone
have information as to the relationship prior to the children's
marriage? I found a document in Frederick County, VA in which Simon
Stacy SENIOR borrowed money from John Counts in December of 1759, and
Mason Combs was the bondsman for Simon, along with Simon's brother John
Stacy. What was the connection between these two men????
This document can be viewed under DOCUMENTS on my page at:
http://www.otn.net/stacy Feel free to make a copy for your own
records.

ANY help would be appreciated.

Thank you,
Barbara Stacy Mathews
