I have some info that I though some of you might need if you have been
infected with Happy99.exe. Technically it is a "worm" not a virus. It will
not destroy information or corrupt your hard drive, but will attach itself
to every e-mail you send out if you have been infected. You get infected by
opening the file as Glenda said she did. Most anti-virus programs will
detect and remove Happy.exe. You should be sure to go on-line and download
the updated profiles before you run the scan. There is a free utility
program available to download and remove the Happy99.exe worm from your
system. You can download it from
http://www.download.com/pc/software/1,332,0-44617-g,1000.html?dd.dl.p.0309.0
17.
Symantec, who produces the Norton Anti-Virus Program has a website that is
dedicated to virus research and identification. You can learn more about
Happy99 and other viruses at this site. It also has an encyclopedia of
identified viruses . It is at http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/ .
Hope this information helps.
