Hello List,
I am very new on this list so bear with me. Most probably the tragic
killing mentioned above
has been talked about before so I hope I don't exasperate anyone. I am
especially interested
in the human aspect and the families involved. I am a genealogist although
not professional
and I do have Appalachian heritage. I hope to get subjective responses.
After all it is much
easier to read a researched newspaper account but often much is left
unsaid. What was the
fate of a Bud ALLEN who was accused of an ambush? Do I have my facts
correct? Bud is
usually a nickname for William and some say Richard. If he was aquitted
were there any
consequences ? What was and is the prevailing local opinion? Do I have the
facts straight?
I would appreciate any sincere comments.
