Here is a list of more men found in Surry CO, NC 1770s and then found in KY.
1) Benjamin Stacy 1771 Surry- related to Ridge and Combs- found in Montgomery
CO,VA 1782- Russell CO, VA 1790s -related to Peter Stacy found in 1810 Clay
CO KY- who is next door to Daniel Davidson who married a Cope- pg 155.
2) Adaniram Allen- 1771-1774-Surry Co, NC- found in 1810 Clay Co, KY b) b/4
1765- pg 155- other Allens on that list in Surry- John, David, Gersham and
Richard Allen.
3) Richard Horn- this man is listed inthe Combs web page as going to TN - I
have more on him in TN.
4) William Calleham- I think this is Callahans of Rowan Co, NC 1768 and who
went to Clay CO, KY 1810.
5) John Bowling SR, and JR- 1774 Surry CO, NC- Bowlings from King George CO,
VA and the Bowlings are found in Clay CO, KY 1810.
6) Randolph Wholebrook/holebrook- found in 1790 Wilks CO, NC, 1810 Floyd CO,
KY and 1830 Perry CO, KY- JR ?
7) Job Broughton- 1777-1790 Surry- found with John Spurlock- land deed 1809
Clay Co, KY- This Spurlock related to Copes Andrew Cope Clay CO ,KY and
nephew James P. Cope of Perry CO, KY 1830.
8) John Amburgey- 1774 Surry- marr. Elizabeth Hammons- a John Burgy found in
1830 Perry CO, KY
9) James Hammans/Hammans- 1777 Surry
10) Edmond Denny- related to the Combs- 1777 Surry
11) Randolph Fugate-1777 Surry - this name is found everywhere including -
Randel Fugate 1782 Montgomery CO, VA - Randolph -1790s Russell Co, VA and
1810 Floyd CO, KY.
12) Josiah Fugate- 1777 Surry - 1782 Montgomery Co, VA, 1790 Russell CO, VA.
I found that alot of these Surry CO, NC people went to SC by 1790 and are
found on tax list in Spartanbourgh CO, SC 1790.
Note: Surry CO, NC- created 1771-72 from Rowan CO, NC- in 1777 part of Surry
became Wilks CO, NC as well Burke CO as was several other counties by 1790.
The some of the area in Wilks CO, NC in 1790 became Ashe CO by 1800- example
1790 Wilks- 8th CO-dist is found in Ashe CO, NC in 1800, - this dist has a
lot of Daniel Boone related families of Greer, Calloway, Cutbirth and
Linville in 1790 Wilks and then they are listed in 1800 Ashe CO, NC.There are
other dist.s in Wilks CO that became Ashe CO, in 1800- I found these families
in these dist.s 10 year apart.
So there was a lot of people in the 1770s Surry CO, NC who are found in Wilks
CO, NC 1780-1790s and later in Ashe Co, NC 1800.
I also have alot of the Surry CO, NC 1770s families traced back to King
George CO, VA 1750s.Example Bennett Rose and Frances Settle have records in
King George CO, VA 1750s and are found on the same tax records in Surry CO,
NC 1770s.
