YOUNG MATRON DIES AFTER CHURCH ATTACK
An expectant young housewife and mother whose physician had predicted arrival
of twins, died Sunday at University Medical center after she collasped while
attending church, MRS. GWENDOLYN DAVIS CARPENTER, 22, never regained
consciousness after suffering an apparent heart attack.
A resident of the Lambric community of Breathitt County and a memeber of the
Baptist Church, Mrs. Carpenter was the wife of William Carpenter, who
survives.
Also surviving are her mother, Mrs. Pearlie Davis, Lambric; a son, Robert Lee
Carpenter, at home; two sisters, Flora Lovely and Wanda Faye Cornett, both of
Lambric; four brothers, Marvin, John and Robert Miller, all of Alexandria,
Ind., and Lester Miller, Lambric.
Burial was in the Howard Cemetery.
