William Alford Mattingly
William Alford Mattingly, 80, of Elizabethtown, died Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, at Hardin Memorial Hospital.
A native of Breckinridge County, he was a member of Elim Holiness Tabernacle Church. He was a retired civil service electrician for 32 years and an Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Carnes Mattingly; his parents, Claude and Artie Michie McGrew Mattingly; a brother, Tom Mattingly; and a sister, Irene Mattingly.
Survivors include five daughters, Elizabeth West of Louisville, Wanda Farmer of Smyrna, Tenn., and Janet McDaniel, Marcia McDaniel and Marsha Dill, all of Elizabethtown; a son-in-law and caretaker, Nolan Jack Farmer of Smyrna; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Wednesday at Manakee Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with the Rev. James Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today and continues from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
