I was interested in your post about Jeremiah BABIN and Elizabeth ABBOTT as I,
too, am looking at the ABBOTT family of Campbell Co. area. They all seem to
go back to JOHN ABBOTT and MARY born abt 1770 and married abt 1792 in Campbell
Co., KY or?? She died young and he married second Hannah MCCUNE on July 12,
1803. (I think this is correct but this may be a marriage of their son JOHN
ABBOTT). Can anyone shed light on this family?

A MARY ABBOTT died April 18, 1855 (is this the mother?). Death date of JOHN
ABBOTT unknown. I believe they may be buried in the old 4 mile Baptist Church
Island Cemetery which is now flooded out. One daughter b abt 1814 was
Elizabeth Abbott, mentioned in 4 Mile Baptist records (Membership List) for 1844.
They also had:
William, John, Younglove, Peter, Thomas, Daniel, Salmon, Nellie, Elizabeth,
Harmon.(all mentioned on the Membership List as a family in the 1844 List)

I have another Elizabeth ABBOTT in my data base:

Their son, DANIAL ABBOTT b. 1804 and Mary BEAGLE b. 1805 married Oct 16,
1824. They had:

1. ELIZABETH ABBOTT b. 1836 (I have that she married B. Clift, I have no
marriage date and do not know if this is a second marriage)

also Eliza, John, Emmaline, Peter, Sarah, Thomas, Leroy, James W., Issac
Newton, and Martha.

Of course his wife could be a daughter of another of the ABBOTT siblings, all
children of JOHN ABBOTT and wife, all born between 1793 and 1812 or so.

Any other researchers on the ABBOTT family out there? I have some
marriages.....would love more detailed information. Karen Beagle
