Hopkinsville New Era
Apr 19 1879

On Friday, Apr the 18th, her 18th birthday, Miss Jennie Hall daughter of
Elihu Hall, died of consumption.

Mr William H. Harrison, a worthy and estimable citizen of the Pemnbroke
neighborhood died Saturday the 19th.

Mrs. Betty Whitaker, wife of Mr. Dan Whitaker of the Casky neighborhood
departed this life Thursday of last week the 17th. She was a lady of many
lovely traits and character and her loss creates a void in the community
which cannot well be filled. The bereaved family has our sincere sympathy.

Mr. Jack Carr, familiarly known as "Uncle Jack" who resided about three
miles from Hopkinsville, died very suddenly Wednesday afternoon. He went
out with his son in law, Mr. White, to look at some plants, and without the
slightest premonitory sign of impending death, fell and expired in an
instant. Efforts were made to restore him to life, but without avail. It
is thought the he died of heart disease.
