Mary Sweet. I think that Henry C. Begley and Elizabeth Roberts were parents
of the Elijah that was a Rebel soldier during the Civil War. He was buried
in Jackson County, not far from where I live. I am quite sure that he was
the only Rebel buried in Jackson Cunty whose tombstone relates the fact. He
was the father of William Begley, a lawyer at London, Laurel County , Ky.
William Begley served one or more terms as Circuit Judge of Clay, Laurel
and Jackson counties

He had a son Robert, who with his brother established the Begley chain of
drug stores that had several branches until they sold out.

I don't recall what makes me think that Elisha was a son of Henry C. and
Elizabeth. I might look it upp. Do you have proof? Elizabeth was a sister
to Rachael that married John Wilson, My gg grandparents. They were d/o
Jesse Roberts and Nancy Anderson. in an arounddabout way, that is the
reason I was named Jess(e).and I had a brother, a cousin, and an uncle
named, Anderson, usually called Ance. I suspect the same place that Big
Ance Bowling got his name through their sister Susanna who married Elisha
Bowling. Almost forgot, a great, granduncle Anderson Wilson that gave a
cold check for a horse and rode the horse to Texas and was never heard from
again.
