Shirley, I suffered too many taunts during my childhood, because my mother
was a Pigg, that I have no modesty when it comes to bragging that my Pigg
ancestors were very rich, high born gentry, almost royalty. I claim that if
the Puritans of England under Oliver Cromwell had not cut off the head of
Charles I in 1649, I would not have been born in 1918, because that
beheading caused my gggggggg grandfather to get in his own ship and come to
America in 1650.
In all honesty, I will have to say that by the time I was born all those
riches had disappeared and grandfather Pigg had to dig coal for a living,
but he had a pretty good education, al though, he still used "es" instead
of "s" when he wanted to add the plural case to a noun as in "postes"
rather than "post" just the way Charles I, King of England would have done
if the Puritans hadn't cut off his head.
