Mary Antonovitch;
For more than 30 years I wrote articles for the JACKSON County
Rural Electric Cooperative’s Cooperative Spotlight Newsletter.
It was an insert in the Rural Kentuckian Magazine, the
predecessors of Kentucky Living. The writings were republished
in book form..
WHEN THEY HANGED THE FIDDLER and THE SUGAR POND AND
THE FRITTER TREE, REVISED, are being republished, Fiddler for
the fifth time and Sugar Pond, a revised second printing. The
prices are $25.00 each plus $3.00 priority mailing per order of
one or two books. Orders made for shipment to a Kentucky address
should include an additional $1.50 per book for Ky. Sales tax.
MAKE CHECK PAYABLE TO CLAY COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY AND MAIL TO
ME.
The articles that I wrote for the newsletter after the
above books were published and before I retired are printed in a
60 page paper back book, LEFTOVERS, Price: $5.00.pp and
including tax. Some articles I have written after I retired
were added to THE SUGAR POND AND FRITTER TREE. Both books are
indexed as to names.
Most of the stories are about families and happenings in
south eastern Kentucky. The name of the newsletter series was
“It Happened Here. “ Although our service area covered at most
parts of 16 counties our circulation for the newsletter grew to
44 states as people began searching their families that original
came to this area before moving on further west or north.
