I'm trying to find out what happened to my GG Grandmother Lucy Barnett after
she divorced Isaac Bowling.
Lucy was born in Clay County in 1879, I believe. I have been told that her
maiden name was Barnett, but I have also seen it as Buttery on my
Grandmothers, Maggie (Bowling) Muncie's Obituary. Which only goes to confuse
me more.
Lucy married Isaac Bowling 6 Nov 1896 in Clay County, KY.
I'm not sure when they divorced, but I was told that Lucy remarried a man
with the Surname of Stewart.
I was also told that when she died on 25 Apr 1929 it was as a Stewart.
I have seen her listed as dying in Lawrence County Ohio as well as New
Miami, Butler County Ohio.
I do know that she is buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Hamilton Ohio.
On the LDS records on FamilySearch.org it has a Lucy Barnett as dying in New
Miami, Butler County Ohio on 25 Apr 1929.
There is also a Death Certificate from Lawrence County Ohio, Cert #25957,
Vol #5959 saying a Lucy Stewart died there on 25 Apr 1929.
I sent for a copy of the Death Cert in Lawrence County a month ago but am
still awaiting its arrival in the mail.
Oh, also, the records at Greenwood Cemetery say that Lucy Bowling died in
New Miami on 25 Apr 1929.
If anyone could shed some light on this, & maybe even fill me in on Lucy's
time from when she divorced Isaac Bowling to the time of her death, wherever
that may be...I would very much appreciate it.
