Hi Pattsy,

Have seen quite a bit of your research on the LDS site and have been
meaning to get in touch with you for some time now.

Please permit me to explain briefly ONE of the times we connect, for there
seem to be several.

As you have in your Oadie Keith Patton Genealogy Russell Bowling b 1795
married Julia Broughton born abt 1810 Knox County, KY.
Julia Broughton married first Jeremiah Hammonds and had two sons -
William and John Hammonds. After the death of Jeremiah, Julia married
Russell Bowling and had another family. So.....John and William Hammonds
are half brothers to the children of Russell Bowling and Julia Broughton
Hammonds Bowling. Now, just to complicate matters, both
John and William married daughters of Thomas Jefferson Bowling m Susan
Cox. Susan Cox Bowling and Julia Broughton Hammonds Bowling were
the great grandmothers of my grandfather William Penn Weaver. I have a
letter in which he wrote about his birth in a "hollow" in Clay Co., KY. In
this letter he states Russell Bowling and Thomas Jefferson Bowling were
cousins. I must also add that Thomas Jefferson and Susan did not marry
until after the birth of the youngest child attributed to them.....so some
of
them married under the name of Cox.

Now for David Bowling s/o Russell and Julia. David married Sarah/Sally Gray
d/o Stephen Gray who may well have been either mulatto or melungeon.
Surprisingly enough, two of the children of Thomas Jefferson
Bowling and Susan Cox also married into this Gray family.

This may be difficult to sort out and it is, indeed, confusing. I have left
out
dates of birth and marriage. Have you ever noticed how many folks will
supply information such as the above and never offer to share their
documentation. I feel you have an interest in documentation as you do show
some on the LDS site.

If you are interested would be more than happy to share Family Group
Sheets, Notes and copies of documentation. Perhaps between the two of us we
could get the Bowlings straightened out. ;-)

My documentation convinces me Sarah/Sally Fugate married a William
Bowling. Have her father's will and some other court records. Wish I were
as strongly convinced we have the right William. Surely Wm O'Connor,
Harley T. Bowling and John in CA can't all be wrong.......or could they ;-)

Hope you find some of this of interest and hopefully some of this is new
information for you. Look forward to hearing from you.

Ann

Oh, before I forget. I have been searching for a Darling Lunsford who m
Cela Weaver d/o Hezekiah Weaver. Marriage date was 5 Feb 1842.
I have been unable to find a trace of this Lunsford family, but did notice
where you showed: Elisha Lunsford m Eva Marie Grant. Their son,
Daniel m Margaret Dombush and had a son Darling. No dates were shown. Do
you think we might also connect through this line ?

> Ann, my Bowling line goes thru Russell Bowling and Julia Broughton also.
Their daughter Sarah Bowling was my great grandmother. Sarah married
George Bennette and they had my grandmother Eliza Jane Bennette Keith.
Eliza Jane had my mother Oadie Keith Patton. Where do you fit in to Russell
and Julia? Pattsy D
