I just noticed I have an Aquilla Wiley b May 29, 1758 listed in my data-base
as a brother of Elizabeth Wiley, both children of William Wiley 'Jr' and
Elizabeth Ferguson of Guilford Co NC. Note that William Wiley sold 640
acres to a 'William Forbis' in 1760 Guilford Co NC. This may very well be
the William Forbis who is the father of Colonel Arthur Forbis of Guilford Co
NC who married Elizabeth Wiley. It appears Arthur Forbis married Aquilla's
sister Elizabeth Wiley. It is said, after Col Arthur Forbis was killed 1781
in the Battle of Guilford Court House, Elizabeth Wiley married his brother,
John Forbis, on September 18, 1786 Rockcreek Twp, Guilford Co NC (keeping in
the family, I guess). Now, here is another interesting part ... Aquilla
Wiley is listed in the '1820 Martin Co Indiana Census'. My gggrandfather
George W. Henson b abt 1799 NC married Anna Forbis (named as Forbish on
marriage papers) on July 21, '1825 Martin Co' Indiana and they later they
showed up living, per 1825 Tax List, in Laurel Co KY. Anna Forbis is the
daughter of William Forbis and Sarah McCammon-Forbis of Clay/Laurel Co KY,
grandaughter of Rev War Vet John Forbis (Forbes) of Rockcastle/Clay/Laurel
Co's KY (John Forbis died at an old age 1854 in Laurel Co KY). There must
be a strong connection to the Guilford Co NC Forbis family line. Remember
the Hensons, that were pioneers in early 1814 Harrison/Martin Co area of
Indiana, came out of 'Randolph Co' NC, which I think was created out of Old
Rowan Co NC .. anyway, it is the same area as Guilford Co NC. Food for
thought and feedback, please. Thanks for sharing any information on my
family lines mentioned above. 'R.E.'
