Charlotte, I can't seem to find the family Frances Black ties into. What
Census year are you referring to in the 1st sentence? I do have a Norris
Black married to Eliza Jane Cathers on Dec 29, 1851 Laurel Co KY ... a Sarah
A. 'Sally' Black married John H. Casteel on Aug 07, 1837 Laurel Co KY ... I
am showing a Mary Ann 'Polly' Black married to James Metcalf in Clay? Co KY
abt 1816 (see James Black in 1827 Laurel Co KY Tax List), both James and
'Polly' lived out their lives in Laurel Co KY ... A Leander Black married
Mary McHargue on April 13, 1854 Laurel Co KY ... also there was apparently a
John Titus Black b abt 1825 of Laurel Co KY married to Martha Frances
Mullins ... An Arnold 'Alexander' Black JR married Elizabeth Harris on Jan
07, 1841 Laurel Co KY ... Albert Redford Black married Cornelia V McCammon,
daughter of William A. McCammon (a Baptist Preacher) and Rosanna Oxford who
married March 13, 1834 Laurel Co KY and shortly moved to Livingston/Grundy
Co MO as did many Laurel Co KY families abt 1837. Albert and Cornelia
married Sept 05, 1867 Grundy Co MO ... many Black lived early 1800 in the
Clay Co KY area and it was probably an area of Clay/Rockcastle Co's that
became Laurel/Jackson Co was the home of many Black family names. If anyone
reading this information can add information on these families it would be
appreciated, and is much needed to be complete and accurate. Thanks for

hi RE!

wanted to let u know that i found "a" Luther Black on the Pittsburg
(Laurel Co.) KY census.

HH 211 Frances Black b KY, age 63? W, (mother born KY, line thru
father's birthplace).
Jane listed as dtr, her age looks like 44 S
Charles son age 26 S
Thomas son age 23 S
and Luther son age 19 b 1880 KY S--all 3 sons listed as miners.
Jane's occupation isn't listed...
also in this HH is boarder George Dunn age 34 S whose occup is clerk gen
store... (not sure of anything except the clerk part).
2 houses away another miner in HH 209 John Black, 39 b KY as are his
parents, wife Mary, age 37 b KY, married 7 yrs. dtrs Nellie age 6, Matha E.
age 5 and son Andrew C. age 2, all born KY.

can't find any info on Frances. her maiden name may be Evans, but
there's nothing to prove this.

i have searched for info on Luther and his brothers... no hits!

looking forward to hearing what u think about this Frances etc...
