RESPONSE:
I checked the 1850, 1860, 1870 Clay Co. Fed. Census and there was no William
or Sarah/Sallie OWENS present during that period. A further check shows that
as of the 1850 Laurel Co., the family of William and Sally BUNCH OWENS was
in Laurel Co., KY as follows:

Dwelling 78
OWENS, William, 42, b. VA (s/o Washington and Amy; died August 1855; married
11 Feb 1828 in Knox Co., KY)
. .Sally (nee BUNCH), 40, b. KY (was the d/o Solomon BUNCH of Knox Co.)
. . Vestma, 21, b. KY (never married - idiotic)
. . James, 20, b. KY (believed to married abt. 1855 in Laurel Co. to Polly
KEEN)
. .Brilda, 14, b. KY (believed to married abt. 1862 in Clay Co. to James R.
GREGORY, s/o Rial)
. . Martha, 10, KY
. .Rily, 7, KY
. .Elizabeth, 5, b. KY - never married
. .Sally, 4, b. KY - never married

NOTE: The annotations are from the 1850 census sold by the Laurel Co.
Historical Society and not my research nor confirmed by me.

As of the 1880 Clay Co., this "might" be Elizabeth and Sally OWENS:

Dwelling 103-106
OWENS, Sarah, 25, b. KY; parents b. KY
. .Gibson, 12, son, KY
. .James, 7, son, KY
. .Mary, 4, dau, KY
. .Samuel, 1, son, KY

Dwelling 104-109
OWENS, Elizabeth, 30 (widow) , b. KY; parents b. KY
. .Willie, 18, nephew, KY
. .Sallie, 12, dau, KY
. .George, 6, son, KY
. . Vestina, 25, "sister", idiot

Returning to the 1870 Laurel Co., this "appears" to be the same Elizabeth and
Sallie with their mother, a widow:

Dwelling 240
OWENS, Sallie, 50, KY - keeping house
. .Bethenia, 40, KY
. .Elizabeth, 22, KY
. .Sallie, 19, KY
. .William, 8, KY
. .Gibson, 3, KY
. .Sallie A., 2, KY
