Subject: Looking for STIVERS family researcher
Date: Tue, 20 Sep 2005 14:43:07 -0700 (PDT)
Hello List,
I am new to your list, so I do not know whether there is much activity on the STIVERS surname. Looking through the archives it seems that the Stivers of Clay County are in later generations than I am seeking. I descended from William Joseph Stivers, a son of Reuben Stivers 1759 (who married Sarah Rozelle). I believe that Reuben's son George (brother to my William Joseph) moved on to Clay County and died there circa 1862 leaving many descendants - thus my connection.
I am particulary looking to locate a researcher named Donald DeZarn. I found his genealogy notes on the internet, but his posted email address was no longer valid. I am trying to verify the various sibling of Reuben Stivers who served in the Revolution along with Reuben. If Donald is still a part of this list I would like to hear from you. If anyone has a current address for him you can contact me direct at if you prefer not to post it to the list.
I know little of the siblings of Reuben or his children, but would like to share what I have found about Reuben with anyone interested.
Looking forward to responses.
Dave
