RAILROAD PRESIDENT, NATIVE OF CLINTON COUNTY , DIES
SAMUEL T. BLEDSOE, 70, president of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe
Railway since 1933, died in Chicago last Wednesday.
A native of Clinton County, he was a cousin of J.P. CLAYTON here and
visited Columbia a few years ago.
A well-known lawyer, he was also a director of Railway Express Agency
and the Continental Illinois Bank and Trust Company.
His early education was in a private school in Jamestown, and the
Southern Normal School and Business college at Bowling green.
BLEDSOE'S first job was that of a school teacher in Clinton County.
