Subject: [KYCLINTO] Seeking Help for Transcribing Files for County Website
Date: Fri, 14 Nov 2003 18:55:25 -0500

I'm testing the waters to see if there is anyone that is willing to help
transcribe some of my collection of death certificates (my collection
numbers well over 500) to post to the county websites so that the
information can get posted more quickly than if I try to do it myself.
Images of the certificates will be added to the sites, too. (This will not
be complete transcriptions, but will include enough information so that
you'll be able to find family members using the site search engine, even if
they weren't the one that died.)

There is no requirement for any special software or equipment, as long as
you can access the internet to view webpages. If you (or anyone you know
of) have some extra time and think you might be interested in helping please
contact me at mailto: Needless to say, once we get
started, the more transcribers, the faster the information can get posted
for your researching use.

Note: I've included the Cumberland County mail list members on this list
even though I don't host that county site, as many of the certificates I
have are from there. The information will be placed in the Cumberland
County archives and will be shared with Nina for the Cumberland County
website.

Just so there's no confusion, the images and transcribed files aren't
available yet. This is something I hope to work on in the next couple of
months, but I'm trying to figure out how the best way to do this would be.
