Rosemary,
Another source of confusion might be in the Holsapples. You mention
that the father of the Nancy Holsapple who married William Cannifax
in Campbell Co., VA was Peter, not Phillip. Is this William Cannifax
the same person as William Maxey Carnifax? Were William and Nancy
married Mary 3 or 6 or 8 in 1809? Did they have eleven children:
George W., Benjamin Franklin, John David, Edward M., William A.,
Elizabeth M., Mary, Lucy, Rhoda, Martha Jane, and David Simpson?
Thanks for your help.
Pat McCann
