Wanted: Name of the father of Catherine Higginbotham, who married Joel
Acre. They are listed in the 1850 census in Wayne Co., KY. She had a
daughter named Sarah S. (Higginbotham) when she married Joel Acre. I don't
know if Catherine had a first marriage or if she was unmarried when Sarah
was born. Sarah, her daughter, was 14 in the 1850 census. Sarah is noted
to have been born in Clinton County. In 1853, Sarah married James Sheffield.
(All information from June Bork's books). Who was Catherine's father?
Different theories have been given...but I want positive proof to connect to
DAR patriot Moses Higgingbotham if possible. Hope there's a paper trail out
there somewhere...Chris
