Hi Carol,
This is my very favorite site for help in dating old pictures. Early
photographers from all over the country are listed alphabetically with
information about what years they were in business as well as where their
shops were located. It's fantastic!

Can anyone recommend a book or web site that gives pointers on dating old
photos? For instance , when were tintypes made? My husband's Aunt loaned
him some and I think I know who they are but I am puzzled about clothing &
photo styles.
