Hi List,

Several of you have written to ask where I found "Kentucky Ancestors".

I live in Shreveport, Louisiana and found "Kentucky Ancestors" in the
genealogy section of our local public library. I can't remember how may
bound volumes they had, but there were a lot, maybe as many as 30 or 40. If
I'm not mistaking, it is an ongoing series containing a compilation of the
articles published in the quarterly magazine of the Kentucky Historical
Society, one year's four quarterly publications per bound volume. So each
year a new volume is added. Someone please correct me if that is wrong
because I'm going from memory here (Big Risk!) and I'm no expert on Kentucky
genealogy. As I recall, there was an large index volume the led me to the
volumes and pages I needed. There was a wealth of information in there.

In regard to Elmwood Cemetery, I was able to find not only the name of the
cemetery where my ancestor was buried, but also which section of the
cemetery and the lot number. A word of caution regarding cemetery lists in
general, just because a name does not appear on a list of folks buried in a
particular cemetery, does not necessarily mean they weren't buried there.

I don't know who originally posted the question about Elmwood Cemetery, but
I hope you are able to find what you need.

Betty
