Subject: [KYGRANT-L] Sarah Ann (Sallie) York
Date: Wed, 9 Jun 1999 09:20:22 EDT

My grandmother Sallie York (Sarah Ann) was born in 1886 in Grant County. She
died in 1943. Here's what I know: She was one of three daughters born to
Elijah (or Elisha or Elicia) York and Nannie Miller. Her other sisters'
names were Hattie May (married to J Walter Frakes of Dry Ridge) and Stella
(married to an Ed Peterson).

I found Nannie's grave listed in a cemetery book as "wife of E. York." She
is buried in Williamstown Cemetery. I found the grave per the book's
directions. She died in July, 1892 at the age of 26.

She married my grandfather Leslie Marion Fogle in Kenton County and they
eventually lived in Lawrenceburg, In.

None of my uncles still living know anything about their parents. It's so
sad that I cannot find anything about such a close relative. According to
Hattie May's marriage license, Elijah was born in Bracken County. I was in
Grant County a few weeks ago but could only spend a few hours there.

I am looking for further info on Sallie York and Elijah York. Any
information floating around in anyone's files?
