My elusive Aunt Maggie. I have heard about her, but since she was born
after the 1860 census I do not have any official records of her birth. Who
stood bond for Maggie? Family rumor has it that she went out to Colorado,
but that is all I know right now.
I have an obituary (posted on the Grant county Web site) for Ora Alice
Butler, William Odd Butler and Martha Alice's daughter. She married a J.G.
Franks from Odessa, MO. They lived near or in Grant County around the turn
of the century and then went out to Missouri and Colorado. She died in
Canton, MO in 1952(?). Thats all I know for sure about the descendants. I
have heard a story or two about the sons of William Odd Butler, but I have
not verified it. My Great Grandfather was Thomas Nicholas Butler, also
Maggie's brother. He married Minnie Daugherty in 1888
The Hendrix connection is intrigueing. Susan Davenport and I had always
thought that John J. Hendrix might have come from the Bath County Hendrix's.
I am pretty sure that Martha Alice grew up in Owen county.
Would like to see your information on the Hendrix forebears.
