George W. Salyers (1818-1886), a native of Fayette County, lived I believe
in Grant County for a while before he moved down to Logan and Simpson
County, Kentucky. While he was there he married Mary Ann Francis Bell
(1814-1865) in Simpson County in 1841. They later had 8 children and
lived at Dowingsville in Grant County. He served in the Union Army and
she died in 1865. He then married Sarah Spoonmore of Gallatin County, and
had four more children.

Nothing is known of Mary Ann Francis Bell. It was assumed she was related
to a Simpson County family, but perhaps her connections were in Grant
County and perhaps she is related to the Francis Bell of your query.
