GARRARD (GARRETT) and BAXTER

William W. Garrard, b. 1847 in Pendleton County, married Hettie A. Baxter, b. 1857 in Pendleton County, in 1879 at the residence of her father, John Baxter, in Grant County. Hettie died in 1906 and William passed on 1936. Both are buried in the Williamstown Cemetery, Grant County. Children of William and Hettie Garrard were: James B. b. 1880; Ollie, b. 1883; Charles Lee, b. 1884; John Oney, b. 1885; Jenny, b. 1887; William, b. 1892; Nannie, b. 1893; and Pearl, b. 1895. Believe all were born in Grant County. At one point this family lived in the East Williamstown Precinct. They moved to Covington, Kenton County, sometime between the 1900 and 1910 Census, except for James B., who seems to have lived all his life in Williamstown. This family's surname is often recorded as Garrett because of the unusual way it's traditionally pronounced.

William and Hettie are my great-grandparents, John Oney is my paternal grandfather and his brothers and sisters are my great-aunts and uncles. I would like to learn all I can about the members of this family as well as Hettie's family, the Baxters. I am also interested the life and times in Williamstown and Grant County during the years this family lived there.
