Jeanette,
I can offer some information on the Crouch family which lived in the Grant,
Gallatin, Owen county area. This was a family group which migrated from
Washington Co. Tenn. about 1833, consisting of brothers Elijah and Joseph
and their sister Sarah Crouch Poland. Each of them brought large families
with them, possibly a couple of nephews also.
Since you mentioned Webster also, let me mention that three Poland siblings
married three Webster siblings in the early 1840's. Specifically, Elizabeth,
Julia, and Jacob Poland married Pendleton, Sanford, and Nancy Jane Webster,
respectively. The Polands were the children of Jacob and Sarah (Crouch)
Poland, and the Websters were the children of Daniel and Sarah Jane
(Cogswell) Webster Jr. Is this the same family you're interested in?
I have additional information if we match.
Terry Spencer
